Experience
I studied at the University of Nairobi for undergraduate and post graduate medical studies. Currently I am a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam’s AISSR, in the project Masculinities, The Becoming Men Project. I expect to be working on The Psychological Vulnerabilities of young men in Urban towns in Kenya. I have work experience in HIV prevention and adolescent health for the past several years, helping develop and implement prevention strategies at facility and national level. My current research interests include masculinities and their attendant psychological vulnerabilities, especially in the field of health and health care ‘adolescent resilience in the context of ‘local” globalisazation and the impact of urbanization on relationships.
